Industry News Jigsaw Data Corp Selects MySQL Open Source Database To Power User-Generated Growth
MySQL To Give The Needed Power And Flexibility To Scale Operations Without Huge Cost

Jigsaw Data Corp, the online global marketplace for buying and trading business contact information, announced that it has selected MySQL, open source database software, to power its online user-generated database of over 3.3 million business contacts at more than 360,000 companies.
Demand for the Jigsaw marketplace continues to grow rapidly as an increasing number of sales, marketing, and recruiting professionals turn to Jigsaw as a resource for finding detailed business contact information such as title, direct telephone and email address to grow their businesses. In the 18 months since its launch, the Jigsaw.com site has rocketed from anonymity to become one of the top 5000 most visited web sites, according to Alexa rankings.
Database migration from PostgreSQL to MySQL will provide enhanced stability, flexibility, and performance to support the expected growth in data and increased traffic to Jigsaw.com as the marketplace gains further adoption worldwide. The self-correcting database is currently supported by 100,000 registered members who continually add, update and maintain the quality of the data, making it the fastest growing resource for accurate business contact and company information.
"MySQL will give us the needed power and flexibility to scale our operations without the huge cost," said Ed Komo, vice president of engineering at Jigsaw Data Corp. "As we prepare to launch a new version of the Jigsaw marketplace next month, we're confident that our infrastructure will be able to support the predicted spike in traffic while providing Jigsaw users with a faster and better user experience."
